Take action

Join with the thousands of people who have objected to the proposed coal-fired power station at Kingsnorth, and say no to new coal power. Campaigners in Europe and the USA have been successful in resisting new coal power, now you can help stop the UK from making the mistake of going for coal.

Act now!

Write to Ed Miliband - the minister in charge of the government's new Energy and Climate change department.
Ask Ed to stop the building of new coal power stations which will make a mockery of UK emmissions targets on WDM's website.

Write to Gordon Brown- and tell the Prime Minister to kick start the carbon clean up and say no to dirty coal on the Stop Climate Chaos website.

Give coal the boot! join Greenpeace's campaign against new coal, and put your bootprint on the UK map on Greenpeace's website.

Write to E.ON themselves: and tell them to stop new coal projects and invest in renewables instead on Oxfam's website and now Christian Aid's website as well.

Write to your MP: writing a personal letter to your MP to ask them to support a public inquiry into Kingsnorth will have more effect. You can find your MP at www.writetothem.com. People and Planet have info on MPs to target, letter writing and organising face to face meetings.

Campaign with us: join our group on Facebook, come along to one of our events, get active with local groups in your area and come to the day of action in August. All the latest news on Kingsnorth, including information about the possible public inquiry will be published on our website.

Support the campaign: make a donation to the World Development Movement (who host this site) or one of the other organisations fighting climate change. E.ON and the other power companies have millions to spend on greenwash advertising so any donation can help.

No new coal: stop Kingsnorth and a new generation of dirty power website created by the World Development Movement.
